hello, I'm from Portugal, and started to take the brevet, I would like to know the differences between the d4d and d4bk

Hello Bruno,

from my point of view is the main difference between D4 and D4BK that the whole bodyshell from the BK is made of glass fibre.
The Rotax in the D4 has 80hp. In the BK you can have 80, 100 or 115hp.
D4 BK's are faster than D4's.
D4 BK's outweight D4's.
The carbin width of the BK is 6cm larger. The overall length of the BK is larger too.
In the BK you can load more fuel mass.
That are all differences I know.

tks, one more question
what is the real mtow of this type of plane, i know the legal is 472.5kgs, but i want to know the real. because lets see
the plane weights 300kgs
fuel is about 92liters= 67kgs
me is 88kgs

this is 455kgs, so no weight to take lugagee or passanger
so my question is the real mtow

i ask this because i like the plane, it apeears to be fast secure economic and practical

I fear that 300kg for emty weight is a to optimistic value.
I have seen D4 BK's with a weight of 380kg.
There are many discussions in Germany about to heavy Fascinations.
Some Fasci's were grounded because of the weight issue.
450kg - 380kg empty weight - 70kp pilot weight = 0kg for fuel
... and I think we all know that the Fasci is no sail plane.

I see no legal way for you to flight with a passenger.
472,5kg - 380kg empty weight - 88kg your weight = 4,5kg fuel mass
Perhaps you will find a Fasci with only 330kg empty weight or less but you will need gained payload for fuel.

but i ask because for example the flight design ctsw is 472.5 like fascination, but i can take 600kgs mtow, ok i know is not legal, but is possible, and i ask the real mtow of fascination because of that

in portugal 70% of pilots fly with more weight that the legal, because the 472.5 is a little stupid
